Listen to Today's Broadcast

Does your child make friends easily?

Social skills don't always come naturally to kids, so teach your children the basics. First, identify problem areas such as being a poor loser, whining, or not sharing. Then work on one weak area at a time through coaching, modeling the behavior, and by giving them opportunities to role play. Be sure to praise them as they begin mastering their new skills. Train your child how to be a good friend by teaching them how to encourage others, how to listen and how to have good manners. By teaching your child how to get along with others, you'll be preparing them for a lifetime of successful relationships.
