Tell them you're going to "catch" them doing right – things that go above and beyond what's expected of them.
Determine how many heart chips it will take to get a reward. You might want to settle on increments of 10. Ten for smaller items and rewards, 20 for larger, and so forth.
You can use the template below for getting started. Simply cut out the hearts, or paste them onto a stiffer type paper.
Another idea: let the kids color them before you start the heart chips "program."
